Forests and Oceans for the Future is a program which combines the traditions of First Nations Peoples with Forestry Industry knowledge, to create effective natural resource management.
Provides a wealth of information regarding the plants and animals of south western British Columbia, home of the Halkomelem people, as well as on the Halkomelem language and dialects.
Describes the project initiated in 1997 on elicitation, representation and use of Traditional Ecological Knowledge in relation to resource management, to bring modern AI approaches to bear on this issue.
